The Big Questions

Is their a purpose to Life? Yes of course, the purpose is to be happy without hurting others.

How can you be happy with so much suffering in the world? Help those who are suffering. The key to happiness is to make others happy.

What happens after you die? Your physical body rots, there is some debate about your spirit.

Does your intellect survive death? For most their intellect does not survive high school, but if you get through that, ask Sgt Pepper…

When you’ve seen beyond yourself then you may find
Peace of mind is waiting there
And the time will come when you see we’re all one
And life flows on within you and without you

Is there a God? There are hundreds of them; from Allah, Bahá’u’lláh, Bhagavati, Chukwu, Elohim, Huwa, Jagdish, to Nana Buluku, Olodumare, Om, Xwedê, Zuess and Zorastor.

Can you know God? From what I can tell there are 2 paths. 1: By caring for others and 2: thru science and rational analysis. I doubt that God is a human like ghost that answer prayers or anoints a human to speak on his behalf. I do not believe in revelation other than the mathematical personification of creation. Faith is not an option. Nature in all its varied forms arises from the action of a few simple principles that converge with accelerating force towards a comprehensive law to which all matter submits. [Babbage] Our role is to be happy and seek understanding of the laws.

Why is there good and evil? The simple maxim “Whatever is disagreeable to yourself do not do unto others.” is not observed. This lesson is preached and not practiced by every faith and creed.

Are we alone in the universe? NASA states there are 100 Billion planets in the milky way galaxy. Our home galaxy. The same number of galaxies may exist in the known universe. The odds are we are not alone. Be thankful we have not been contacted, it may not be friendly.

Does time exist? Yes on this planet anyway, but some claim gravitational time dilation suggests time is but an illusion.

Is time and gravity all an illusion? Some say the physical world exists only as sensory data in the perception of minds, and not as a substance or a thing in itself. Have that discussion on a 12th story balcony. If unsure, jump off and you will discover gravity is real. Time as well. So yes this is all very real.
